A Deep Dive Into LG Sports Watch
LG Sports Watch has been given a 7.7 out of 10 overall rating, and shows up in the top ten smartwatches.
The LG Sports Watch was created by LG, the “Life is Good” Korean Electric company that makes phones to washing machines and has lots of years experience. They have created a smartwatch geared for the fitness training in mind with Gorilla Glass 3 and a rotating navigation crown with two side buttons to Google pay and Google Fit. It interfaces best with Android phones OS 4.4+
This is LG’s fourth smartwatch since 2014, and it was designed for the all-around athlete. It was launched in February 2017.
This watch has lots of bells and whistles, like a microphone, loudspeaker, vibration notification, WiFi, NCF, GPS, LTE ambient light and more.
Who Is It For?
The LG Sports Watch is for the Fitness Geek who wants “Function over Fashion”. This watch is for someone with an athletic lifestyle.
This watch works best with Android smartphones and has lots of features for someone who does more than one type of workout.
It can track your run in terms of speed, distance, heart rate as well as count your weight training reps and keeps you on your goal.
The LG Sports Watch has a heart sensor for resting, as well as active, tracking, an accelerometer to track speed, a GPS to help track distance, and barometric altitude function to keep track of altitude on hikes.
It is great for biking, running, and aerobic workouts. If it had better waterproofing and thus, the ability to track your swimming, it would be the favorite for triathlon athletes who cycle, run and swim.
The LG Sports Watch is water resistant up to IP68 rating, meaning it can survive 1.5 meters (about 5ft) underwater for up to 30 minutes, so it is not recommended for swimming.
The bands come in one size and fit a medium to large wrist, so the LG Sports Watch may not suit a small wrist. There is an antenna embedded into the band, so it is not replaceable with other watch bands. The watch has a masculine look and is relatively heavy.

Main Features and Functions
Design: Circular design of 1.38 inches with Oled resolution of 480x480 so you get a sharp vivid reading. Clean industrial design. The watch comes in two colors: Titanium (black) and Dark Blue. It measures 45.4 x 51.2 x 14.2, so it is fairly high on the wrist.
You may not be able to change the watch band because of its embedded antenna, however, Google provides lots of watch face options to make it yours.
Fitness tracking: Google Fit app features heart rate monitoring, distance and time. You can customize your tracking to add coaching challenges.
This watch includes motion detection so it can be accurately used on treadmills and stationary bikes.
It has Wear OS software so it interfaces well with Google Apps. The Apps available on Wear OS are almost limitless.
With NCF using Android Pay, one can make payments quickly and securely by loading credit card information directly onto the watch.
Music: You can stream your favorite music into your watch and listen through speakers or match with headphones synced to your watch through Bluetooth.
LG Sports Watches needs to be charged nightly so it won’t be checking sleep. Like most smartwatches, with less use of phone and music features the battery will last longer.
A Nano-SIM card can be inserted in the watch but may only be used within the US. (check with your server for compatibility)

The band contains an antenna so they are not interchangeable with other watch bands. They only fit medium and large size wrists. LG will replace bands if the watch is under warranty, but after, they will charge for band replacement.
The band is made of Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU), so it’s gym-appropriate, comfortable and can handle sweaty workouts.
It has lots of nice Google features like Google assistant, by just saying “OK Google”, you can search the web, schedule calendar events, start your workout, etc.
The small keyboard in the watch lets you write as well. It is noted to be incredibly accurate for a cramped keyboard — as well as learning to anticipate and recognize your words.
It also has a microphone, loudspeaker, vibration notification, WiFi, GPS,
Weight: 89.4 grams and 14mm thick so it is big., especially if you compare the LG Watch Style which was launched at the same time. This watch may be hard to find in the UK because it was not launched there.
LTE ambient light: The display light is always on and gets brighter outside or in indirect lighting.
The LG Watch Sport can monitor the following types of exercise so it is great for all an around athlete:

So if you are a strong athlete who likes strapping something big on your wrist with lots of features to track your fitness (except perhaps swimming), you should definitely check out the LG Watch Sport. The Dark Blue model may be harder to find outside the US, but the Titanium (Black) should not be a problem. This watch goes a long way in functions and features. The original listing price has been lowered so it is even better value than it was.
