Samsung smartwatches for Fitness
Samsung's range of smartwatches & smart fitness bands provide connected functionality to your Android smartphone. Powered by Samsung's own Tizen operating system the Gear S3 and Gear Fit2 offer essential fitness monitoring features. The features include; wrist based heart rate, pedometer (step counter), 24/7 activity tracker, sleep tracker, floors climbed and auto exercise tracking. These two new models also incorporate built-in GPS so you can exercise outdoors with speed & distance feedback without the need to carry your phone.
Samsung Gear S2, Gear S3 and Gear Fit2
The latest version in the popular Gear S range is the Samsung Gear S3 (Classic and Frontier). For many people the Gear S2 is still the preferred option due to it's compact size and less "masculine" design. The Gear S2 has a majority of the features of the S3, however, it is missing the built-in GPS of the newer version. As a Fitbit alternative Samsung have the Gear Fit2, a dedicated fitness band with built-in GPS and heart rate sensor.
NOTE >> If you are seriously in to your fitness training then I would recommend reading my review of the Polar M600. The M600 is built on Android Wear providing access to dozens of dedicated fitness apps like Strava and Endomondo. Also consider the Garmin Vivoactive HR with smartphone connectivity and access for hundreds of Garmin Connect IQ apps. In my view these are both better smartwatches for the more dedicated fitness enthusiast.
